James Demers

September 11, 1985 — December 6, 2023

Stittsville

It is with profound sadness that we annouce that Jamie "Jimmy" Demers of Ottawa; father, spouse, son, brother and friend, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2023, aged 38.

Predeceased by his father Andre R. Demers, Jimmy is survived by his mother, Carol Shaver, his fiancée Tiffany (née Johnson) his children Ethan (Ashley) and Zoë-Jane, his brother Andre (Jaclyn), and his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will also be greatly missed by Tiffany's children Pinxit, Atticus and Leif, along with his many work friends from Kott Lumber and Value Village. Most of all he will be missed by his closest friend Joel Bushell.

Jimmy spent his whole life in Ottawa, growing up with his family in Hintonburg. He had a knack for making people laugh, and loved to draw. He had a proclivity for music, and enjoyed going to shows, listening to and creating music. Jimmy was a movie buff and had an extensive collection and could recall random facts and quotes from various films.

Jimmy had tremendous love for his family and was proud to be involved in building a home for them to share. As a sneakerhead, he bonded over this shared interest with Ethan. Despite his tough exterior he was enamoured with Zoë-Jane and made sure everyone was aware. He enjoyed taking spontaneous day trips to Pakenham, ON with Tiffany and her children, and going “to the island” with Rizzo, the family dog.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10am at the Tony Graham Recreation Center - Hall A, 100 Charlie Rogers Pl, Kanata. Dress code is semi-casual.
