James Donald Bruce

James Donald Bruce passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Aug. 6 at the age of 73. James is survived by his sons, Jordan Bruce (Michi McCloskey) of Toronto, Graeme Bruce (Laura Glowacki) of Ottawa, two grandchildren Bronwyn and Emmett, as well as nephews Bill Potts of Ottawa, Thomas Potts of Ottawa, Matthew Potts of Ottawa. He is predeceased by his sisters Jean Bruce of Englehart and Joan Potts (nee Bruce) of Ottawa, brother William, parents Mary and Bernard, aunt Margaret Paterson, uncles Donald (Isabelle) Paterson, Bill Patterson and nephew Robert Potts. Jim took great pride in his career in the banking industry, which took him to several cities across Ontario. However, his heart remained on the peaceful shores of Sesekinika Lake, ON, where he spent countless summers at the family cottage. A place to quiet the mind, the cottage nurtured his creativity and deep love of the outdoors. Though life presented its share of challenges, Jim was always proud of his children. Jim’s family would like to thank the Kidney Care Clinic in North Bay and Villa Marconi in Ottawa for their help and support in his final days.
