With a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of our brother, dad, grandfather, and uncle Jacque (Jack) Richard Lafrance on Thursday, November 7, 2024 after his battle with cancer. Formerly of Edwards, Winchester, McDonald’s Corners, and a Florida snowbird, Jack passed at the age of 69 in Perth Hospital, almost one month before his 70th birthday on December 24th.
Son of the late Victor and Gertrude (Millaire) Lafrance. Loving father of Tiffany (Dan Daoust) and Jeff (Tanya). Caring grandfather and Poppa to Abby, Hailey, Khloe Lafrance and Dominic and Patrick Daoust. Adopted grandfather of Alexis and Axel. Dear brother of Jacqueline (late Gerard Lambert), Gisele, Odette (late Richard Huneault), Denise, Francine (late Brian Stobo), Andy (Donna), Pauline and the late Richard (Joanne), Lise, Rock (Marie-Paul), Denis, and Marcel. Fondly remembered for his humour by many nieces and nephews.
Jack was an amazing father with a loving and giving heart. With a creative and entrepreneurial mind, he successfully operated two business throughout his lifetime: J.R. Aluminum in Winchester and his legacy, Paul’s Creek Campsite in McDonald’s Corners where he built a log cabin for his family and developed many wonderful memories and relationships with friends. He could often be found around a campfire or at a jamboree playing guitar, banjo, or fiddle which he taught himself to play by ear and with his left hand. Or, at an antique car show with his 1954 yellow Chrysler Fargo, or fishing in his boat.
He will be dearly missed! Close family and friends of Jack’s are invited to a graveside burial at Saint Jacques Cemetery in Embrun, Ontario on Saturday, November 16th at 10:00am.
