Ivan "Riri" "Ivo" Pecek

Ivan "Riri" "Ivo" Pecek, aged 61, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Maison de l'Est Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 19, 1964, Ivan lived a life rich with love and joy, deeply cherished by his family and friends.

Ivan is survived by his beloved daughter, Susan Pecek; his son, Boris Stojkovic; and his treasured grandson, Nikola Pecek. He was the loving son of Milica Mlkan and the late Josip Pecek. Ivan will be remembered fondly by his brothers, Stanko Pecek and Drago Pecek, along with his sister-in-law, Nevenka Pecek, and his nieces, Aleksandra Pecek and Valentina Pecek. He also leaves behind his father-in-law, Ivan Mlkan, who held a special place in his heart.

A dedicated painter by profession, Ivan took pride in his work and often admired the beauty of craftsmanship in various forms. He enjoyed spending quality time with family, coming together to watch soccer, passionately supporting Croatia and Manchester United. His appreciation for Croatian folk and country music brought warmth and joy, often filling the home with melodies that resonated with his spirit.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5, at 11:00 AM at St. Leopold Mandic Church/Parish in Ottawa, followed by interment at Hope Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Maison de l'Est Hospice for their compassionate support during Ivan's final days.
