Irma Tuulikki Brown (Nee Puumalainen) March 12, 1952 to May 1, 2026

" After a lengthy illness, and with family at her side, Irma Tuulikki Brown (nee Puumalainen), passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at the THP/Mississauga Hospital in her 74th year. Hers was a courageous battle first with chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis, and later in life, with Alzheimer's Dementia and Delirium.

A proud resident of Mississauga since 1987, she is survived by her loving husband, Daniel, her brother Osmo (Ulla) Puumalainen of Cambridge, her sister, Anja Koivisto, of Cambridge, her brother in law Ronald (Catherine) Brown of Owen Sound and brother in law James (Liana) Brown of Hanover. She is predeceased by her parents, Veikko and Kerttu Puumalainen, her sister, Arja Puumalainen, and her brother, Onni Puumalainen, all of Lahti, Finland, and her parents in law, Gordon and Eileen Brown of Paisley, Ontario. Along with her many cherished Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins in Canada and Finland, who will miss her dearly.

Arriving in Toronto, Canada in 1974, Tuulikki was a joy to be around, with an adventurous matkakuume spirit about her. Her sweet and charming demeanor enthralled many people in the Canadian Travel Industry for over 35 years, both in Vancouver and Toronto, and all over the world.

Our gratitude goes out to the loving care, and support, of the many doctors, nurses, personal care workers and staff at the Brunel Day Care Program and Nora's House Respite Care, her numerous medical care appointments through the years, and her recent THP/Mississauga Hospital stay.

In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, suggested donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Peel and/or Trillium Health Partners Foundation.

In her honour, a Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at Mississauga City Baptist Church located at 3534 Cawthra Road, Mississauga, ON L5A2Y3 between 1:00 and 4:00PM

  1. "I Am Held in His Light"
  2. Do not grieve as though I'm lost, For I am held in His embrace.
  3. The One who gave me life on earth, Has called me to a brighter place.
  4. My pain is gone, my soul is free, I rest where peace will never end.
  5. And in His love, I've found my home, Where broken hearts begin to mend.
  6. Though you may weep and miss me still, Do not let sorrow dim your way.
  7. For God now holds me close in light, And walks beside you every day.
  8. We are not parted, not for long, His promise keeps us strong and true.
  9. And when He calls, we'll meet again— In endless love, made whole, made new.
