Irene Jean Poustie, aged 68 of Oakville, Ontario, passed away on Friday May 15th, 2026, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Sister and best friend to Gail Brown (Paul).

Amazing Aunt to David Poustie (Judy), Andrew Poustie (Kelly) and Kenneth Poustie (Laura).

Numero Uno to Liam and Gemma.

Great Aunt to Kyle, John, Lachlan, Mavis, Cameron and Kate.

Pre-deceased by her parents John and Jean Poustie of Dumbarton Scotland and big brother David Poustie (Morag).

Irene was a proud Scot, and was known for her fashion, wit, and unquestionable strength and determination. She was a true animal lover who walked through life with many four legged friends. Irene was known and loved by a wonderful group of neighbours, and made many friends while dedicating her working years to the Town of Oakville.

The family would like to thank the staff at OTMH, especially those of 7 South and 3 North, for their care and compassion.

Those wishing to honour Irene’s memory may make a donation to a local animal rescue or charity, so her love of animals lives on.
