Obituary

Ingrid Madden passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at Roberta Place, leaving behind a lifetime devoted to family, education, and the many students whose lives she touched.

Ingrid was born in Germany in 1942, where she developed strong culinary and homemaking skills that would remain a part of her life for many years. In 1962, she immigrated to Canada to begin a new life.

In 1964, she married her husband, William Henry Madden, beginning a partnership that would last 62 years. Throughout her life, Bill stood beside her with unwavering devotion, supporting her through every stage of life and sharing in the work of building both their family and their school.

Together they raised three sons: John, Peter, and Michael.

In 1980, Ingrid and Bill founded a school together, which became one of the great passions of her life. Ingrid taught there for thirty years, until 2010. She believed strongly in helping children succeed and devoted herself to guiding and encouraging the many students who passed through the school.

Those fortunate enough to have been taught by Ingrid remember her as kind, patient, and deeply committed to her students. She believed every child deserved encouragement and the opportunity to succeed.

Outside of teaching, Ingrid’s greatest joy was caring for her family. She loved cooking, maintaining a welcoming home, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ingrid’s life was defined by her dedication to her family, her students, and the school she built with her husband. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she helped shape over the years.

She will be remembered with love by her husband of 62 years, William Henry Madden, their sons John, Peter, and Michael, and their beloved grandchildren, along with the many students whose lives she influenced throughout her years of teaching.
