Harry van der Veer

It is with sadness to announce the passing of Harry van der Veer at 88 years old on September 8th, 2024 at the Ottawa General Hospital.

He is survived by his devoted wife Lisa, his daughters Roxanne and Kristina, and his grandchildren Aidan and Tiana. He will be remembered for being a fierce protector and provider for his family, and having the perseverance to overcome life's obstacles including surviving World War II in German-occupied Holland. Harry was known for his sharp mind, wittiness, honesty, and sense of humour.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Ottawa General Hospital (6th floor) for making him comfortable in his final days.

No formal service will be held. Donations can be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation to honour his memory in lieu of flowers.
