St. John’s Cemetery
4:00 - 4:30 pm (Eastern time)
Predeceased by the love of his life and dance partner Suzanne (nee MacDonald). Typically, she was a bit late to pick him up for the party at the end, but he was surrounded by family while he waited and crossed to the other side on March 25, 2026.
Left behind to recount a lifetime of memories now of Dad and Mom are the old-kids Jan (Lisa) and Kim (Ian). Gordon was an extremely proud “Poppy” to three amazing boys Michael, Sam and Ben. A cherished big brother to Lynn, Jane and Richard. Adored by Larry, Mary and Suzanne (nee Vincent). He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Anyone who knew Gordon will also know he is now back with his “buddies” Lassie, Bailey, Bozer, Toby, Ale, Bessie, Sam, Leo and Theo. All likely competing for treats, walks and pets on the head. Many have asked and if you wish to donate in Gordon’s memory, please choose a pet rescue of your choice or to Freedom Dog Rescue in Ottawa https://freedomdogrescue.ca , where Dad rescued his most recent ‘love’ Theo.
A heartfelt shout-out to Tracy for keeping the family calm during Uncle G’s final days. Those texts and calls to help understand what was happening will never be forgotten.
We want to thank the staff at Crossing Bridge Long Term Care in Stittsville for being part of our extended family. Their care and compassion went above and beyond. We will be forever grateful.
One of Gordon’s favorite songs to sing to was “Song sung blue everybody knows one…funny thing you can sing it with a cry in your voice and before you know it gets to feeling good, you simply got not choice” -Neil Diamond
We will miss him but know he is at peace dancing and singing again.
Cremation has already taken place for burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Gananoque on May 29, 2026, at 4pm. Following the burial, the family will welcome you to a celebration of life where tall tales, fond memories, and laughter are all part of the plan.
