It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. George Springer died peacefully on March 25, 2026 at the age of 91. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Barbara and deeply cherished by his daughter Penny (Carlos). He also is remembered by his sons Mike and Gary. George was a proud grandfather to Jason (Mae), Melanie (Daniel) and Cody (Anita) and an adoring great grandfather to Emily, Aaron, Lincoln, Nash, Jayden and Tristan. George will be also be remembered by his sister, Billie.
George lived a life centered around family, love and laughter. He was a good man - always there when needed and always willing to lend a helping hand. George was known for his sharp sense of humour, always quick with a joke to brighten any moment. Nothing meant more to him than being surrounded by those he loved. He cherished family gatherings and created countless memories that will live on in the hearts of his family.
He had a true passion for cars, spending hours each week cleaning and waxing them with great pride and care. George held onto his driver’s licence until the very end, a small but meaningful symbol of his lifelong love for cars and the independence he valued so deeply.
He passed peacefully at Humber Valley Terrace Long-Term Care Centre, with his wife and daughter by his side. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff for the care, compassion, and support they provided.
After a long period of suffering, he is now at rest. We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. Until we meet again, you will be forever loved and never forgotten.
Arrangements to follow.
