Geertruida (Trudy) Bos

Born: Rotterdam, NL July 14, 1930 – Died Barrie, ON January 8, 2026

God called mom to her heavenly home at the age of 95. She died peacefully at the Mill Creek Care Centre surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her loving husband Cor Bos. Father to John (Nellie), Andy (Janet), Wilma (Peter) and Larry (Jacky). She was a proud Oma to Joanna (deceased), Mike (Mouy), Neil (Coreen), Marc (Amy), Steven (Ellyn), Lindsay (Ryan), Laura (Michael), Krista (Alexander), Richard, Lisa (Joe), Jessica. Mom was also a proud Oma to 12 great grand children – Maya, Amelia, Caleb, Colton, Hailey, Winston, Eddie, Anna, Abigail, Grayson, James and Maxwell. Also remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada and in Europe. This past July we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate mom’s 95th birthday. We give thanks to God for the many blessings and His faithfulness during mom’s life on earth, her love of family and for her steadfast example of her faith in God.

We would also like to thank the staff of 3 west at the Mill Creek Care Centre for the love and care for mom over the past seven years. Mom often told us, “They all take really good care of me here”. This was greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

A private family burial will take place in the spring.
Celebration of mom’s life to be held Monday, January 12, 2026 
At the Barrie First Christian Reformed Church, located at 33 Shirley Avenue, in Barrie. 
Visitation at 3:00PM and the Celebration of Life at 4:00PM with a time of refreshments and fellowship to follow from 5:00PM - 6:30PM.
