Gavin Ruddock

It is with deep sadness that the family of Gavin Ruddock, of Toronto, Ontario, announce his passing on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 88. Gavin was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.

Born to the late Hugh George Ruddock and Gretel Hetley Emina Ruddock, Gavin lived a life full of resilience, warmth, and adventure. He enjoyed traveling and sharing meaningful experiences with family and friends.

Gavin is lovingly remembered by his seven children: Paulette Ruddock Bobey, Wayne Antonio Ruddock, Genize Ruddock, Marvia Young, Erica Ruddock, Patrick Ruddock, and Karen Ruddock Jones. He is also survived by his sisters Claire and Monica, his brothers Neville and Algernon, as well as numerous grandchildren including Julia Ruddock, Amanda Ruddock, JeRhonda Ruddock, Nicole Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Justin Thompson, and Janelle Ruddock. His memory will also be cherished by his seven great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.

Gavin was predeceased by his loving parents and now joins them in eternal rest.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mausoleum, 4570 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 5L6. For GPS driving instructions, please use 10 Linelle Street, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 2J3.

Following the service, interment will take place at Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario, M2R 1Y6, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers of St. George Care Community for their dedicated and compassionate support.

Gavin will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and his generous heart.
