Gary James Ferron
December 1, 1950 - August 20, 2025

Gary was born in Toronto, the eldest of five children. He died peacefully at the young age of 74 after a brave battle with cancer. Gary was a fun-loving family man who enjoyed fooling around and being silly.

He loved the outdoors. His favourite parks were Killarney for its ruggedness, Beausoleil Island for boating, and Killbear for family time. He enjoyed walking, biking, swimming and kayaking, and always wanted to share these adventures. He was known for his corny jokes and great storytelling. The last story he shared was a fond remembrance of his Camino de Santiago walk in Spain in 2017.

He had a wealth of knowledge about a thousand things and readily shared this knowledge. Jazz and Blues were his thing, and he loved to jam with his friends, or play his harmonica along with the radio.

One of Gary’s greatest passions was hockey. He first played as a young boy under the guidance of his father, who was also his coach. Gary later became a coach himself as a teenager. He played hockey up until the last year of his life when, reluctantly, he had to stop due to treatment. If there was a game on TV, you could bet he was watching. A die-hard, often disappointed, Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

Gary was also a talented renovator and carpenter with a keen eye for design. He could fix anything and often did so for his family and friends. He was a man of many ideas. His skills were most evident in the home he built for his family in Innisfil; something he was incredibly proud of.

Predeceased by his mother, Millie Ferron (nee Groves), and his father, Moe Ferron. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Ingrao; cherished daughter, Jaclyn Ferron (Burchell); playful grandsons, Grayson and Clark; four siblings, Jimmy, Rickey, Cheryl (Owen), and Diana (Shaw); and seven nieces and eight nephews.

He is dearly and deeply missed.
Love you to the moon and back.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gary's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A private celebration of life will be held for close family.
