Gary Brethour

Gary Ross Brethour  

 

March 17, 1956 - October 14, 2023, passed at 67 years of age.

 

After suffering cancer Gary passed away in hospital on October 14, 2023. Gary has been released from physical pain and is now with his beloved mother Mary Parks, and his Grandma Del. Della Gord and her husband 2 dads.

 

Cherished husband of Laurel DeMille Brethour, Dad to Christina Lu DeMille and her husband Timothy Thompson, Geoffery Christian DeMille and his wife Brandy DeMille.

 

Proud Grandfather to Erin Gabar and her husband Patrick, and Timothy Clayton Thompson. Gary was so proud of his grandchildren,  especially devoted to his adored granddaughter, Erin, and his great grandson Eleazar. Gary was excited to know Erin would be welcoming a new addition to the family in April of 2024. It gave him peace to know the love that will be shared in their home.

 

Gary is also survived by his bothers Wayne and Patty Brethour, Brian and Edith Brethour, his sister Debbie Cullen, his nieces and nephews Jessica and Steve Vivian, and their daughter Kendall, Graeme Brethour, Lauren Brethour, Christopher and Jennifer Dechamplain and their daughter Aleyea.

 

Everyone who knew Gary loved him. He will be greatly missed. He was well known for being a nice guy.

 

Gary spent his days working for Canada Post until his retirement when he would spend his time enjoying sports from the comfort of his home. Gary leaves a legacy of compassion, love and kindness.

 

Celebration of Life to be held at The Bay Ridges Pub on Liverpool Rd. In Pickering on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm. Come and share your stories about Gary.
