Gail Marie Brett, aged 78, passed away on August 5th, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario. Born on September 12th, 1946, she was a beloved member of her family and community, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Gail was predeceased by her parents, Richard (Dick) and Mary Connolly (Doucette), who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity. She is survived by her only sibling, Debbie Belliveau and her husband Jerry, who reside in Mill Cove, New Brunswick. Gail cherished her nephew, Jason Belliveau, from Fredericton, New Brunswick, who brought joy and pride to her life.
Throughout her professional career, Gail served with dedication at the Department of National Defense, where her hard work and commitment earned her great respect among her colleagues. In recognition of her service, she was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002, a testament to her contributions and dedication.
Gail was known for her excellent sense of humor and ability to bring people together. She cultivated many friendships and was a source of joy for those around her. Her kind and generous spirit left a lasting impact, and she will be fondly remembered by her loved ones.
A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date, as family and friends gather to honor the memory of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
