Gabor Paul Mezei

Artist, (born Budapest Hungary 1934)

Gabor Paul Mezei passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Mississauga, coincidentally or wilfully, between his last two caregiver visits of the day on Thursday September 25, 2025.

Gabor was an artist who was known for both his representational and abstract paintings, and particularly for his watercolours. He was the co-proprietor of Gallery Gabor Ltd, in Mirvish Village, Toronto Canada, with his life-long partner Csöpi (Margit) Mezei (born 1932 Budapest Hungary, deceased October 4, 2024). He was also a gifted teacher of watercolour painting.

They had one son, Paul, who lives and works as a designer under the moniker Relish design in Toronto Canada.
