Firoz Ziadkhani Ghassemi

February 14, 1940 — May 27, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Firoz Ziadkhani Ghassemi, after a battle with heart complications. Born in Tabriz, Iran, Firoz lived a rich life filled with laughter, curiosity, and love. An English teacher by profession, he had a lifelong passion for language, music, and human connection. His warmth, bright smile, and playful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was the cherished father of Shawheen, Sholeh, and Yashar (Aron), and a proud grandfather to Sandra, Milla, and Alice. Known for his goofiness, Firoz created a whimsical vocabulary that became part of the family’s fabric—his expressions still bring smiles today.

Firoz lived with a full heart. He sang freely, laughed often, and made others feel truly seen and loved. One of his final wishes was to be remembered not with sorrow, but with laughter, music, and a glass of red wine.

In lieu of flowers, and honoring Firoz’s personal wishes shared with his children, the family invites donations to "Together For Cuba", a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to supporting Cuba's most vulnerable communities. Donations can be made securely online at togetherforcuba.ca.
