Ernest (Ernie) Cecil Armstrong, aged 78, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at Brampton Civic Hospital. Born on January 29, 1948, in Little Current, Ontario, Ernie was the beloved son of Colleen Bockes and Kenneth Armstrong. He was a proud and longtime resident of Brampton, Ontario.

Ernie shared a beautiful life with his spouse, Réjeanne Groves, with whom he celebrated over 30 wonderful years of partnership. He worked for more than 30 years in the warehouse at Kodak Canada, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and easygoing personality.

A naturally outgoing and joyful soul, Ernie had a gift for making people smile. His sense of humor was unforgettable, and he brought warmth and laughter to every room he entered. He loved the outdoors—especially fishing and golfing—passions that brought him great happiness throughout his life.

Ernie is lovingly remembered by his wife Réjeanne. He will forever remain in the hearts of his two beautiful daughters, Dawn Armstrong, and Denise Armstrong (Patrick); his grandsons Elias & Joshua; and his granddaughters Renee and Sarah. Ernie is predeceased by his granddaughter Angie, whose memory he carried with him always.

He was a loving brother to Mary, Cathy, Vanessa, and Maureen and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his stepdaughters Ginette (Mathieu), Carole (Steve) and his step grandsons Jesse & Chase.

In keeping with Ernie’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. The family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date, joined by close family to honor and remember him.

Ernie’s humor, kindness, and genuine love for others will be deeply missed and forever treasured.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in his honor to the Canadian Lung Association (https://www.lung.ca/).
