Ellen Boyd Weir, aged 89, passed away quickly and quietly, with her daughter by her side, in Kingston, Ontario Canada on October 18th, 2023, after experiencing a sudden heart attack. She leaves behind children Rod (Michelle), Aileen (Andrew) and Erica, as well as grandchildren Brendan, Coleman, and Alexandra. Ellen retained her presence of mind, delight in her family and friends, and passion for crosswords throughout her long, accomplished life. Ellen’s ashes will be spread in the same location as her beloved husband Alastair, along the banks of Lake Ontario. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be sent to Ellen’s favourite charities, the War Amps and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
