Ottawa

Ellen Mae Bennett, transitioned to heaven April 3, 2024 at 5:44 a.m, at the age of 70. She fought a very fierce battle with cancer; while also having been a survivor once. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love.

Born November 28, 1953, in the beautiful town of Wolfville, Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia - Ellen was a lady of strength, humour and care. Her passions lay in the kitchen either baking or cooking then delivering to other’s her creations for their enjoyment. Joy to her was from little kindnesses, like spending time with her; not the extravagancies of life.

Ellen loved tending to her indoor plants and outdoor hanging baskets and nurturing them into vibrant blooms. She had a soft spot for all animals and was a self-proclaimed “people person.” She had an entourage of her “people” who loved her as much as she loved them.

Ellen is survived by her beloved twin sister Ella Rankine (Dave), her husband, Jack, their two children— Karna and Karen (Mike) — and several grandchildren and grand “pets”. She also said “See you later” to her extended family which includes her “chosen” family – her cherished friends. Her transition to the heavens is deeply felt by all who knew her.

Ellen’s wishes were to remember her during happy times and to not cry of her transition. A graveside blessing will happen during the Apple Blossoms of the Annapolis Valley in June 2024 at the Gaspereau Cemetery in Nova Scotia, the eternal resting place of her family through the past 300 years. She will be laid to rest with her mom and dad – Emily and Gordon Pudsey.

To our newly gained angel, Ellen -- Your kindness lives on in our heart, your smile and laugh fill our mind and your memory rests within our soul.
