Our hearts are full of treasured memories as we share that our cherished time with Eldwyth de Roché (née Barrow) has come to an end. On July 31, 2025, just 3 days shy of her 83rd birthday, she was called home by her Heavenly Father.
Eldwyth was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, into a large family. In her youth, her 9 siblings filled her life with love, laughter, and a sense of adventure.
Never one for the classroom, Eldwyth would much rather be found charging down the field hockey pitch. Or enjoying surf and sand at one of the many beautiful island beaches.
Eldwyth married in England, and her adventure continued with stops in Barbados, Guyana, and back to Trinidad, before finally arriving in Canada.
In Canada, Eldwyth was able to continue her career in health insurance with Confederation Life, and eventually settled in the Brampton (Bramalea) area of the GTA.
In Brampton, Eldwyth was blessed to be in close community with many transplants and old souls from the islands, including some with whom she used to run the pitch and streets back in Trinidad.
Eldwyth's quick wit, playful nature, and joyful spirit were contagious, infusing every conversation and gathering with laughter and warmth.
Eldwyth is survived by her husband David, her son Kerrynn, and daughter-in-law Sarita.
