Eileen Marie Winters

Eileen Marie Winters (nee Mungham) passed peacefully surrounded by her family on June 17, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Orillia, Ontario in 1940, Eileen grew up as one of ten children in Orillia and in Deep River, Ontario. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed softball, darts, bowling, fun-filled days on the golf course with Bryan, and always stayed active and fit. Eileen liked to be involved in her community, contributing to the Girl Guide movement as a Brownie, Guide, and Ranger leader, serving on several parish councils, as a member of Royal Canadian Legion Locals 240 and 618, and raising money for the Kidney Foundation. Eileen is survived by her loving husband Bryan Winters of Stittsville, Ontario; her children Ann Marie Dunn (John Hohlheimer), Jamie Dunn (Suzanne Purkis), and Michael Dunn (Mira); her grandchildren, Krystal, Kieran, Mikala, Emma, and Henry; her great-grandchildren, Devlin, Allison, and Anya; her brother, Gerry Mungham (Dorothy), and her sister, Sister Julia Ann Mungham GSIC, her brothers-in-law Ron Winters and his wife Margaret, Jack Winters and his wife Aline, her sister-in-law Eleanor Page, and her step-son Jeremy Winters and his wife Amber and son Riley. She is predeceased by her father and mother, James and Marion Mungham; her siblings, Richard Mungham, Frances Gullekson, Mary Ellen Rajotte, Lawrence Mungham, Lucy Morel, Thomas Mungham, Shiela Hambrook; and her first husband, Ted Dunn. Eileen is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Mungham, Clare Mungham, Carolyn Mungham, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Eileen always stayed close to her large family and it remained an important part of her life, donating a kidney to her sister Sheila in 2004.

There will be a private ceremony for family where her cremated remains will be interned at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Enniskerry, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
