Edith (Bell) Schofield

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Edith Schofield of Fenelon Falls on Monday, July 10, 2023 at the age of 91.

Edith was a devoted wife to her husband Bernard for close to 50 years, and a loving mom to her children Alan (Linda) (both predeceased), Edith (Brian), Susan, Gary (Beryl) and Cindy (Phil) and step-children David (Suzie), Madeleine (Lex) and Martin (Lori). She was also Nan to Jessie, Cameron and Amanda and great-grandmother to A.J. and Drew. Edith also had many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Edith was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1957. She settled by the Scarborough Bluffs with her family, and eventually moved to Fenelon Falls to enjoy retirement with her husband.

She had a broad range of interests throughout her life. She played golf, did needlepoint, knitted for a variety of charities, was an avid reader, and was proud to volunteer at her church.

Edith had two wishes; cremation, which has taken place, and return to her beloved Scotland. Her family will honour mom’s wish and return her to Scotland as her final resting place.
