Dorothy Grace Gifford (née Lingard), born August 30, 1935, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, and has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour.

Originally from Port Hope, Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack Frederick Gifford.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Tracey Lahey (Paul) and Nikki Gifford-Kittell (John), along with six cherished grandchildren: Vanessa, Damon, Deshawn, Alex (Deb), Grace (Lucas), and Emilie (Matt). Dorothy was also a proud great-grandmother to Ophelia, Charlie, and Bennett.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her love, warmth, kindness, and steady presence. All who knew her spoke of her as a kind and beautiful person, and her gentle spirit touched many lives.

Dorothy was very involved in her church community and gave her time generously as a volunteer at The Miller’s Oven. She had a deep love for her German Shepherds and was passionate about dog training. She enjoyed nature walks and found joy in the simple beauty of everyday moments. Dorothy also loved sewing and was a proud member of a local quilting guild, where she shared her creativity and connected with others in the community.

She will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Miller’s Oven in Dorothy’s memory.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Manotick United Church on May 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a light lunch.

While her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in the words of Scripture: “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:23). Dorothy is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
