Doreen Whitton (nee Hepburn)

Surrounded by family Doreen Whitton (nee Hepburn) passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at Fairview Lodge at 87 years of age.

Loving mother of Joanne and her husband Keith Wright. Adored Nana of Kayla (Daynen), Fiona and Liam. Doreen is predeceased by her beloved daughter Janice, to whom she shared a special bond. Dear sister of Maureen and James Nicoll, William and Bridget Hepburn and the late Johanna Ward (nee Hepburn) and families. Cherished Auntie of Joan Ward Garland (Mike), Doreen Nicoll, Lynne Ward (deceased) and families. Doreen was part of the trio known as the Nanas and the Papa, along with her beloved twin sister Maureen and brother-in-law James, and was an effervescent Nana Whitton of Jake, Logan, James, Keira, Nolan, Catrina, Julia, Hailey, Chelsey and Clinton and families. Doreen will be sadly missed and always fondly remembered by all her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, the Bahamas, Boston and Great Britain.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the exemplary care and attention of hematologist Dr. Sarah Ingber, cardiologist Dr. Jason Burstein, and family doctor Dr. David Rosenberg (retired), as well as the staff at Fairview Lodge and Viva Whitby Shores who provided thoughtful care over the recent past.

A celebration of Doreen's life will be held at Viva Whitby Shores, 51 Whitby Shores Greenway (south of Victoria St. W. and Gordon St.), on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
