Our deeply beloved and irreplaceable Dieter Schneider drew his last breath at Saint Patrick’s Home of Ottawa on June 18, 2026 with his sweetheart, Maythé, by his side. His good friend, Eric, was present and comforted both during his last hours on this earth.

Dieter was a talented therapist for over 40 years (but wanted no credit for it) offering physiotherapy, massage therapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, naturopathy, among other alternate health disciplines. He had a wealth of knowledge, wisdom, even an acute sense of discernment and honesty. He mended countless of us physically and otherwise. We owe him so much and are forever grateful that he followed and stayed true to his life’s calling! There will never be another set of masterful hands to soothe our sore necks and ailing bodies, like his. He was a gifted healer, a teacher and mentor but above all, a true friend. He had an optimistic outlook on life. The sound of his deep loud contagious laughter still resonates with us.

Dieter was born in Gerswelier, Saarbrücken-West (Saarland), Germany on November 26. He came to Canada by boat with a friend at the age of eighteen looking for opportunities and settled here for the rest of his life. He married Doris Emma née Brown (predeceased) with whom he had three children: Chris, Mark (predeceased), and David.

He is survived and mourned by his common law spouse, Maythé (Marie-Thérèse Du-Pond) and family, his sons Christopher Schneider, David Schneider, daughter in law Leisa Campbell, grandchildren Christopher Schneider Junior and Chloee Campbell Schneider, as well as many former patients, dear friends, and his family in Christ.

A combination of religious service, lead by Pastor Dawson McVeetors, and celebration of life followed by a light reception onsite will be lovingly held to remember Dieter in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere on July 16, 2026 at 11:00 am. Graciously hosted by Dayspring Church located at 999 Moodie Drive, Ottawa, ON K2R 1H4. Second floor staircase access only (approximately twenty steps); no wheelchair access. Free parking. Please RSVP no later than July 13 by calling or texting with your name and the number of attendees at 613 322-0438. Thank you, we look forward to you joining us.
