With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Derek Anthony Francis — affectionately known as Bundy — on October 19, 2025 after a courageous battle with aggressive lymphoma. He passed peacefully surrounded by family.

Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Derek moved often as a child before proudly serving in the Canadian Army, where he was stationed mainly in Germany. He later made Keswick and Innisfil, Ontario, his lifelong home.

Derek was predeceased by his beloved wife Joanne Francis (2006) and leaves behind his loving partner April Paul; his children Laura (Kory) Harrington, Mathew (Meagan) Francis , and Nicole (Honky) Hawrysio; “bonus children” Holly Paul (Oscar Reyes ) and Terrance Paul; and cherished grandchildren Emily, Anthony, Cheyanne, Hunter, Winter, and Everett. He will also be missed by his brother Trevor Figg (Tamara) and many dear friends.

After 34 dedicated years with Club Coffee/Nestlé Food Service, Derek was well known for his loyalty, humor, and community spirit — active with the Royal Canadian Legion, darts, and local fundraisers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at:

Traditions Banquet Hall at Sheba Shrine, 142 John Street, Barrie, ON.
