Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share that Dennis passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, following a brief illness. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Harvey and Mary Tiede. He was the beloved lifelong partner of Monica Holl, with whom he shared a life filled with care and devotion, a loving father to David (Melissa), and the proud grandpa Dennis to Charlotte. Dennis was the beloved brother of Anita (Vincent Kyle) and Robert (Mary); a special uncle to Rosemary (Michael Rehberg), Jennifer (Michael Offak), Paul (Elise), and Katie (Matthew Borch); and a great-uncle to many. He will be fondly remembered by the extended Holl family.

Dennis shared his love of the outdoors with David through many treasured camping and fishing excursions in Algonquin Park and northern Ontario, as well as fishing trips for rainbow trout on Georgian Bay.

Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, integrity, dedicated work ethic and determination. He took pride in helping others, expecting nothing in return, and it was important to him that no one be excluded. With his fun-loving spirit, Dennis took pleasure in sharing his humour with those around him. From childhood, he loved telling a good joke and appreciated hearing one even more. We will miss him more than words can express, but the love we shared will remain in our hearts, and his memory will be treasured forever.

A family graveside service and interment were held on October 3, 2026, at Woodland Cemetery in Kitchener, Ontario.

  2. Don’t worry, or feel sad for me, I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea.”
