After a long and courageous health battle, Debbie Speirs passed away on July 16, 2026, following a late stage diagnosis of ALS.
Debbie welcomed everyone she met with a bright, contagious smile and a heart full of kindness and acceptance. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel loved, valued, and at home in her presence.
Debbie was the beloved daughter of Margaret “Peggy” Speirs and Brian Speirs and was born to Saffron Cooper. She was also dearly loved by her half siblings in the United Kingdom, Clair and Simon (Chris). Debbie was predeceased by her cherished family in the UK and Ireland. She leaves behind many beloved cousins, including Dave (Vicky), Chris (Jo-Anne), and Jen. She also held a lifelong friendship and respect for the father of her daughters, Francis White.
Debbie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her devoted daughters, Marina White (Chris) and Ciarra White (Angele), who will forever miss their best friend and beloved mother. She was an incredibly proud Nana to Johvanna, Adrianna, Giulianna, Rayne, and Lavender. Her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes, and it saddened her deeply that she would not be able to watch them grow and celebrate their milestones.
Debbie treasured her lifelong friendships, especially with Faye Lavergne and Laurie Ackland. Their children Jena, Jordan, Dustin, and Eryn were like family to her, and she was honoured to be considered their aunt.
Throughout her highly successful career as a hairstylist, Debbie built lasting relationships with countless clients who became lifelong friends. To everyone not specifically mentioned here, please know that Debbie loved and appreciated you. You know who you are, and your friendship meant the world to her.
A Celebration of Debbie’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Dr. Frank Kinnaird Hall, Russell Arena, 1084 Concession Street, Russell, Ontario. All who knew and loved Debbie are warmly welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made by e-transfer to Marina White at marina_white8@hotmail.com to help cover the expenses related to Debbie’s passing. Those who knew Debbie knew her generosity she would gladly give her last dime to help someone in need.
Debbie’s love, warmth, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
