Deana Marie Ginn

It’s with broken hearts that the family shares the passing of Deana Ginn (née Leblond) of Ottawa/Osgoode, on June 19, 2025. Deana was born June 26, 1941 and passed away peacefully with her husband and daughters by her side just one week before her 84th birthday due to complications from pneumonia.

Beloved wife to Gary and mother to Tracy (Rob) and Kelly (Denis). Proud Nana to Kayla (Bryden), Bailey (Kyra), Lily and stepgrandsons Martin (Morgan) and the late Patrick. She had six great grandchildren William, Tomas, Atticus, Scottie, Ellie and Asher and the lovable shared fur baby Cooper (whom she called PITA).

Daughter of the late Elzear Leblond and the late Ruby Balkwell (Charlie) and predeceased by her sister Barbara. She will also be remembered by her sisters in law, Shirley, Lillian and Ruth, nieces and nephews, and her many dear friends.

Deana was fondly known as Di or Nana and loved life. She lived a storybook love story with her high school sweetheart for close to 70 years. She was a retired hairdresser and long time breast cancer survivor. She loved to travel, paint and enjoyed the finer things in life; good food and wine. She adored spending time with her friends and family. She was a great cook and loved hosting Sunday suppers or backyard parties. There was always room at the table for one more or two or three. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Thanks to the wonderful caring and compassionate ICU doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton and Kemptville hospitals.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Royal Canadian Legion

3284 Sunstrum St, Osgoode ON K0A 2W0, Canada from 1pm to 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
