Dawne Marie (Babcock) LaForce

Peacefully, the way she planned, following a long battle with COPD, and her daughters by her side, on Friday August 11, 2023, at the Carleton Place District and Memorial Hospital at the age of 68. Loving mother of Gillian Turner (Derek) and Jackie LaForce (Jason Healey). Cherished grandmother of Travis, Jaxson, Arianna, Isabelle, and Alexia. Dear sister of Cheryl Baker (Late Wayne), and Bryan Babcock (Nancy). Predeceased by her parents Grant and Mary Babcock (née McPherson).

Dawne was always thinking of others, was always supportive and there to lend a listening ear. She was someone you could trust and count on. She was also a social butterfly and loved chatting and making new friends. Growing up, Dawne loved playing sports, especially basketball, volleyball, baseball, and track. She later went to Loyalist College in Belleville and graduated with her diploma in the Developmental Service Worker program.

A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Sunday August 20th, 2023, at the Gananoque Curling Club, 300 William Street South, Gananoque, ON, from 1pm-3pm. Some family and friends will be scattering her ashes privately.

The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Higham, and all of Dawne's incredible friends and neighbors who have been so supportive.
