The world lost a remarkably genuine soul with the sudden passing of David Gordon Yule on May 7th, 2026. Loved deeply by his family, friends, and colleagues, Dave had a rare ability to make everyone feel truly valued. He avoided the spotlight, preferring to quietly uplift others through active listening and easy humour, and to lead by example.

Missing Dave immensely are Judy Warren, daughter Jennifer (Brock), son Ryan (Tina), and Dave's terrific grandchildren, Corbin, Lauren, Rachel, and Elly. Dave was a much-loved brother to Lois Collins (late Steve), Donna Muystra, and Ron Yule (Chantal) and will be forever missed by them and their families.

Dave made many lifelong friends from his years at Champlain High School and Algonquin College. He enjoyed gatherings at the Prescott Hotel and the Carleton Tavern to catch up with friends, swap stories, and have many, many laughs. Dave's family thanks these friends for the enjoyment they brought to him.

In honour of Dave's quiet strength, expressions of sympathy can be made via the The Ottawa Hospital Foundation to benefit the Ottawa Hospital Dialysis Center or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Dave was also a strong advocate of organ donation. His legacy of authentic love will never be forgotten. Dave has been cremated and a gathering to remember him will be held at a later date. We will mourn him until we join him.
