David John Haynes

After a brief illness, David John Haynes Sr. went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2026.

Pre-deceased by his parents, Hayward and Mary and two brothers Bob and Roger.

Deeply loved and missed by his wife of 64 years, Maureen (Grant) and their children; David (Marie), Donna, Diane (Steve), Susan (Rob) and Kathy (Al).

Known as Pop to his grandchildren, they brought him so much love and joy. Missing his outgoing nature and fun-loving ways are Dylan, Vaughan (Sydney), Stephen (Diana), Samantha (Samuel), Amanda (Phil), Adam and Erin, Isabella, Daisy and Jena, and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Myles, Daniella and Malcolm. Thank you, Pop, for the nicknames, the secret handshakes and teaching us the alphabet backwards.

David was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland where he married the love of his life and raised his family before moving to Ontario. He dedicated his life to his family and always made everyone feel special and loved. He was always there to help and did so with a smile, from helping with gardening and being the ultimate handyman, he was there for everyone.

He is now at peace in the arms of his Saviour.

At his request, the family will hold a private memorial service.
