It is with broken hearts we share that Dave passed away in Toronto on September 4th, 2025.
As many of you know, he lived a rich and full life, guided by his many passions and interests. He was a Professor, Department Chair and Diving Coach at Ryerson University (TMU) for over 30 years, and even after retirement, volunteered with the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO), designing a multi-media curriculum for the University of Guyana.
He was a fixture on the Boardwalk in the Toronto Beaches, chatting to anyone who had time to talk, usually someone who was walking a dog. He loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen.
He spent many happy years in Bequia at the Little Fort with Mary, hosting friends and neighbours, volunteering on Committees, and building life-long friendships.
He was a true Renaissance man; life-long swimmer and diver, scuba-master, sailor, classical music lover, cottage builder, dog whisperer, founder and Councillor in the Township of the Archipelago, and creative in many areas, including sculpture and jewellery design.
First and foremost, he was a loving husband to his wife Mary for 61 years, father to 3 daughters: Anneliese (Derek), Tina (Brett), and Shawna (Tiffany), and Grumpa to Conor, Poppa to India.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, we know he would be honoured if you raised a glass - preferably a delicious Italian red - in his memory.
