Dallas Edward Patrick Budd

June 27, 1938 — May 22, 2025

Tottenham, ON

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dallas Budd on May 22, 2025, in his sleep at the age of 86. He was deeply loved by many, and we are comforted knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife Carol, along with family and friends who loved him deeply. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Muriel, and his brothers Wayne and Vaughan. He will be dearly missed by his sister Mary-Anne.

Born in Toronto on June 27, 1938, Dallas lived a remarkable life filled with diverse interests, accomplishments, and a generous spirit. He leaves behind his cherished daughters Michelle, Lynda, Julianne, and Diane, his grand kids Brayden, Troy, Adam, Madison, Holly and Heather. As well as a wide circle of extended family and lifelong friends.

Dallas’s life was rich with adventure and community service. As a young man, he was a barefoot water ski performer at Cleveland House in the late 1960s. In the aftermath of Hurricane Hazel in 1954, he played a key role in gathering survivors and organizing boat rescues along the river — an early example of his lifelong commitment to helping others.

Throughout his life, Dallas was deeply involved in his community: President of the Lions Club, Chair of the Ethics Committee and President of the Brampton Real Estate Board, and President of the Grape Island Property Owners Association.

Professionally, he worked in the engineering and real estate departments of Consumers Gas, and served as a firefighter with the North York Fire Department. He later became broker/owner of Budd Real Estate, proudly sponsoring his daughters’ softball teams under the family business name.

Dallas had a passion for vintage cars and proudly owned many over the years. A true handyman and craftsman, his woodworking skills were legendary among family and friends.

He also embraced entrepreneurial ventures early on — delivering flowers for Hayhoe and Dominion Foods in the 1960s, and living out a dream of serving ice cream cones as the owner of the Woodbridge Dairy Bar in 1961.

Dallas’s love of life was infectious. He was a self-proclaimed member of the “Mickey Mouse Club,” sharing laughter and good times with dear friends Don and Nan Bell, Gerri (Muriel) Devins, Bryson McQuirter. Summers in Port Dover with the Beechey’s, Bailey’s, Rossitter’s, his first wife Laura and their children were a cherished tradition.

He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, community spirit, humour, and above all, love for his family and friends. Dallas will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
