It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our adored Conrad “Butch” Williams on Friday, September 11, at the age of 85 in Barrie, Ontario.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Sandra; siblings Peggy, Bill and Sues; and best friend, Ron Marshall.

He is survived by his loving children Jenn (Dan Bist) and Dan (Dawn McAlpine); his sister Karen (Harvey – predeceased) and brother Joe (Bonnie); favourite cousin Judi (Bo – predeceased); as well as Shredder, his feathered companion. He is profoundly missed by Ruth, Tracy, Christie; numerous nieces and nephews; and many others for whom he was like a second father.

Butch was a long-time City of Barrie employee before he retired (the first time) to later work at the post office within Shoppers Drug Mart for several years. In his retirement, he spent many fabulous years boating, camping and visiting Florida.

Our family extends its appreciation to his team of personal support/medical caregivers for their dedication and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at the Jennett Memorial Centre (152 Bradford Street, Barrie) on Saturday, September 26, starting at 12 noon. It will be followed by a time to visit and remember from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Internment will occur separately (family only).

In lieu of flowers, our family asks that any donations be made to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA), Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
