Remembering Colin Cummins
Colin Cummins, a cornerstone of the Canadian baseball community and a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, in Mississauga, Ontario, surrounded by the love of his family.
Colin’s life was defined by his unwavering passion for the game of baseball. As a player, coach, mentor, and the owner of the Ontario Giants, he dedicated himself to the sport at every level. To Colin, baseball was more than just a game—it was everything. He was a fixture at the diamond, never passing up an opportunity to "talk ball" with anyone who would listen, sharing his deep knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for the sport he loved.
Beyond the box scores and championships, Colin’s true legacy lies in the profound impact he had on the people around him. He was known for his generous spirit, always going the extra mile to ensure his players and coaches received the attention, guidance, and support they deserved. He didn't just build athletes; he built character, leaving a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of crossing his path.
While his presence will be deeply missed on the field, his greatest pride and joy remained his family. Colin was the beloved husband of Jennifer and the immensely proud father of his two wonderful children, Sydnei and Logan.
He is survived by his mother, Juliette (Cummins), his father, Lionel (Roberts), and his brother, Don (Cummins). He will be remembered fondly by his extended family, many friends, and the generations of ballplayers he inspired.
Colin’s kindness, mentorship, and love for the game will continue to resonate through the lives of the many people he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication that will never be forgotten.
