Clayton Mockler, 92, of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 11, 1934, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, to Arnold Mockler and Helene Page, Clayton was a devoted husband, a proud father, and an accomplished businessman. He founded Longueuil Photo in Montreal and dedicated over 30 years of his life to learning the trade, making people laugh and supporting his customers. He was known to say he never worked a day in his life - he loved what he did, and he did what he loved.
Clayton was happiest when spending time sailing, skiing, travelling or taking photographs. In his later years, he continued to enjoy downhill skiing well into his 80s, swimming and listening to old music. He loved watching old western movies and spending time with his family. Clayton always loved people and throughout his life he never missed a chance to wave, say hello and start a conversation to meet new friends.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Caroline; his children, Gail, Patricia, Kelly, Christopher and Thomas; and cherished grandchildren in Canada, New Zealand and France. A celebration of his long and happy life will be held on September 5th, 2026 at the Morrisburg Legion. The celebration will run from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with words of remembrance beginning at 2:00pm. Donations to the Heart Foundation in lieu of flowers would be welcomed.
