It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Claudette Morin on April 22. 2024. Beloved wife of Richard Morin. Loving mother of Lise, Lynn (Kenneth), Richard, and Pamela (David). Proud grandmother of Ryan (Jennie), Kendra, Riana, Allissa (Bob Kevin), Stephane, Karina, and Isabelle. Delighted great-grandmother of Kaelyn, Savana, Gabrielle, and Anna. Predeceased by her parents James and Dorothy (Michaud) and her siblings Margaret, Jean, Edward, Rita, Patrick, Regina, and Robert. Claudette will be missed by sisters-in-law Jacqueline, Anita, and Maria; brothers-in-law Denis, Roger, and Fernand as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Claudette was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
She was a loving daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. A devoted wife to her husband and a supportive mother to her children. She maintained relationships into adulthood with childhood friends. Through many moves (Timmins, Gogama, Blind River, Hanmer, Cornwall, North Bay, and Ottawa), Claudette formed deep relationships with neighbours, co-workers through her public service employment, and people she met through her many interests including summers at the cottage, fishing often proudly catching the biggest fish, golf, card games, reading, and aquafit.
After retirement, Claudette and Richard took many memorable trips. Her children were fortunate to experience a relationship with her that moved beyond child and mother to friends and enjoyed many getaway weekends together.
She was intrigued with technology and enjoyed her iPad, computer, cellphone, and Alexa. Mostly because they enabled her to keep in touch with the younger generation through her daily texts and funny bitmojis. Among many memories, her grandchildren will cherish those of making her famous butter tarts with Grandma and her great-granddaughters will treasure playing games with Grandma ‘dette.
She loved giving and receiving hugs and snuggles; so, in her memory, hug someone today. Claudette, Mom, Grandma and Grandma ‘dette we love you and miss you already.
A cremation has been arranged and a private family service will take place at a later date.
For those desiring, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, a cause Claudette supported, would be greatly appreciated.
