Claudette Cecile (Lajoie) Cousineau

January 6, 1937 — August 27, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Claudette Cecile Cousineau who passed away on Sunday, August 27,2023, at the age of 86.

Born on January 6,1937 in Aylmer Quebec, she was the fifteenth child of Alphonse Lajoie of Aylmer and Eugenie Charlebois of Montebello. She was predeceased by six brothers and eight sisters whom she talked about frequently. She married Roland Cousineau, the love of her life, and was devastated when he died in 2004. She was step-mother for nine adult children, Alice and her husband Claude who predeceased her, Andre(Diane), Louise, Jean Pierre(Odette), Ginette(Kevin), Bernard(Marie), Roland(Carol), Benoit(Susan), Danielle. She was a loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Claudette was a kind and gentle person and will be missed by all her family and many friends who loved her deeply. She was an excellent baker and cook and delighted us for years with beautifully decorated cakes and delicious pastries. She also had a great love for dogs especially her little friend Mia whom she talked about constantly.

A service of celebration will be held on Thursday the 14th of September 2023, at the Notre-Dame de Lourdes church, 435 Montreal Road, Ottawa Ontario, at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Mission would be appreciated.
