Clarence Elliott Hodgins

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

It is with great sadness that the family announces, Clarence Elliott Hodgins,  Retired Sgt, RCAF, CAF passed peacefully in his 94th year at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on April 5th with his son and daughter at his side. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Patricia.

He will be greatly missed by his sister Eleanor Connelly of Portage du Fort, children Cindy Hodgins (Paul Kreitzer), Michael Hodgins (Diane) of Ottawa, granddaughters Jessica (Lee Nixon) of Carp, Alanna Kreitzer (Jeff Mitchell) of Calgary, and his 3 great-grandchildren (Olivia, Ava and Levi Nixon) as well as many nieces and nephews. His 4th great-grandchild is due shortly.
Clarence was born in Shawville, Quebec, he lived and travelled all over Canada for work and pleasure.   He loved meeting people, enjoyed coffee with friends, fixing almost anything and lending a helping hand whenever he could.  His sparkling blue eyes, kind heart and ready smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Heartfelt thanks from the family to the staff at Garden Terrace for their wonderful care the past two years,  and the staff at QCH emergency, ACE unit and A-3 for their professional, kind and compassionate care while he was fighting pneumonia and heart failure. We are comforted by the excellent palliative care he received, the opportunity to be with him, and that his final days were peaceful.

Internment and memorial will be planned at a later time at the Military Cemetry in Beechwood, Ottawa.
