Christopher Mark Baker

August 6, 1964 — July 14, 2025

Ottawa

Chris died peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital. Though he had cancer, Chris kept his sense of humour and positive outlook until his last day. He is survived by his partner of 34 years, Peggy McNally, her sons Jesse (Tara) and Jeremy, and step-grandchildren David, Charlie, William, Wesley, Manny, Mila, and Annabelle.

Son of Cecelia Baker (Gary Konink) and Jack Baker (the late Linda Price), brother of Annette Golding (Phil Labossiere), Steve Baker (Tammy Bannon), and Jack Baker Jr. Cherished uncle of the late Raymond Smyth, James Smyth (Angela Abbinett), Ben and Daisy Deziel, cherished great uncle of Declan Abbinett.

Chris was a well-respected and much appreciated service technician to the restaurant trade. He loved to go camping and fishing, and cooked up wonderful meals, especially breakfasts. He will be missed by fishing buddy Jean Sigman (the late Carole Rocheleau), and Lisa and Jan Cirwa, among many other good friends, neighbours Mike and Elton, and Rocky.

He will be sadly missed by his in-laws, the Pelot family, too numerous to be named.

We love you, Chris!

There will be a celebration of life party at the picnic shelter at Rideau River Park on his birthday, August 6, 2025, and another on August 30, 2025, at brother-in-law Phil Pelot’s.
