Christiane Donna Marie Rankin, lovingly known as Chris or Chrissy, passed away peacefully in hospice in Ottawa on February 14, 2026, following a courageous 2.5 year battle with cancer. She was born in Ottawa on June 19, 1964, a Father’s Day gift who remained one of a kind from the very beginning.

Chris was predeceased by her mother, Therese Couillard-Sibiga, and her father Edward Sibiga.

She is survived by her two children, Sara (Alex) and John, her beloved grandchildren Ender and Ailo, and her cherished cat Percy.

Chris was stubborn, quirky, and always marched to the beat of her own drum. She embraced life in her own unique way and found joy in the simple things, whether it was a summer night drive with the top down, good Chinese food, or the quiet, ordinary moments that others might overlook. She did not try to fit in, and that was exactly what made her special. She was unmistakably herself.

In keeping with her wishes, a simple celebration of life will be held in the fall in the Gatineau Hills.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
