Cheryl-Anne Margaret Quinn 1974 - 2025
It is with deep sorrow we mourn the loss of Cheryl-Anne Margaret Quinn (nee Dolson) of Barrie, Ontario. Cheryl passed away suddenly at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario on April 24, 2025 at the age of 50. She was surrounded by her loving husband Greg, beloved daughter Scarlett and her devoted family, as she closed her eyes in her earthly life and opened them to the presence of her fold in her new heavenly life.
She will be lovingly remembered by Greg, her husband of 15 years, her beloved daughter Scarlett, and remembered with love and affection by her parents Nancy and Ed Dolson and her brother Benjamin Dolson.
Cheryl was born in Ingersoll Ontario in 1974 to loving parents Nancy and Ed Dolson. She was sister to Ben Dolson, sister-in-law Lisa Dolson, nephews Ethan and Elliot of Scotland, UK. She was a cherished daughter-in-law to Robert and Joanne (Piekarski) Quinn, sister-in-law to Patrick and Kate (Pawson) Quinn, and aunt to Cora & Shaela Quinn all of Timmins, Ontario.
Cheryl is predeceased by grandparents Ray and Margaret Dolson, Pat (Barbara) White & Donald White, Aunt Pat (White) Angel, and Uncles Gerald White and Robert white.
She will be sorely and dearly missed by her many aunts uncles and cousins: Uncle Al and Aunt Nancy Dolson, Eric, Laura (Russ) Saudino, Amberliegh (Mike) Lannoo, Uncle Eric & Aunt Denise Dolson, Chad (Amanda), Brian (Angela), Aunt Cathy Johnson (Dolson), Paul (Nicole), Michael (Virginia), Margaret (Chad) Baese, Aunt Bonnie (Dolson) & Uncle Wayne Ward, Matt, & Ryan. Aunt Marilyn & Uncle Jay Campbell, Burgundy (Brandon). Aunt Rose White, Sarah (Jordan) Munday and Ryan Innes. Aunt France (Gerry) White, Patricia and Chad Turner, Karine and Loiic Oliver, Emily Nadeau, Susan (Bob) White, Ian and Maja Cooke, Margaret and Marcel Feller, Rebecca (Phil) Watson, Uncle Donny White, Corey & Virginia, & Kodey White.
She was a treasured lifelong friend to Mary Anne Pollmann-Mudryj and Kathryn Vallas with whom she shared many adventures and travels.
Cheryl was a gifted and caring teacher with a career spanning 25 years. Her first post was in the Berens River First Nation in Manitoba. She went on to teach in Manitouwadge, Tottenham, Base Borden, Bradford and finally Barrie where she met and married her beloved Greg in 2010. She was much loved by her many students with whom she fostered a sense of joy for learning and the values of kindness, compassion, love, respect, courage, generosity, faith, hope and forgiveness.
She was a lover and supporter of the musical and theater arts. With this in mind, in lieu of flowers we ask that you make a charitable donation to the Glowing Hearts Charity https://www.glowingheartscharity.org/donate in support of the Simcoe Youth Choir of which her daughter is a proud member.
A Celebration of life, prayers and visitation will take place at Jennett Memorial Centre, 152 Bradford St, Barrie, ON. There will be visitation and vigil prayers on Wednesday April 30th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. Funeral and a Mass of the resurrection will be held Thursday, May 1st at 1:00 pm at St John Vianney Roman Catholic Church 13 Baldwin Ln, Barrie, ON.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the physicians, nurses, social workers and spiritual support staff at the Royal Victoria ICU for their care and compassion in her final days.
