It is with deep sorrow and great love that we announce the peaceful passing of Cesar Luiz Dacol Sr.
Born in Brazil, Cesar was a man of remarkable drive and character from an early age. As a young man, he excelled in basketball, rising to the national level. He honorably served in the military, where he was recognized for his talent and discipline, advancing to the rank of comandante in the Military Police of Londrina, where he was admired for his leadership and unwavering dedication to serving the public.
Cesar married the love of his life, Maria DeLourdes Vitola, and remained devoted to her until his final days. Together they built a life grounded in faith, perseverance, and family. In 1971, they welcomed their first son, Cesar Jr. (Jordan, Grace, Alysan). Seeking greater opportunity and a brighter future, they made the courageous decision to take a chance and use all they had to immigrate to Canada in 1973. Facing many obstacles, such as the harsh Canadian climate, Cesar chose to persevere.
He held a master’s in business and brought his entrepreneurial spirit, ingenuity, and tenacity to always find a way forward. He often had a hand in many areas, such as his time at Graham Cable, aiding with shows and the creation of local content and documentaries. His painting company, The Colours, employed many people and set him on a path of independence. He was often seen in the community helping others from all paths of life. His passion for learning led him to speak many languages fluently (Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, French...), a reflection of both his intelligence and determination.
In 1979, the family was blessed with the arrival of a second son, Christopher (Laryssa). A devout Catholic, he attended Mass daily and lived his faith through action. He worked tirelessly within his community and instilled those same values of faith, hard work, compassion, and resilience in his children. He was known for his humor, sharp mind, and ability to speak with anyone. He loved watching sports, playing basketball and soccer, taking long walks, and telling stories that brought laughter, wisdom, and life to every room he entered. Cesar was loved by all who knew him. He had a generous spirit and a powerful presence that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His legacy lives on through his two sons, cherished daughters-in-law (Marcia and Amanda) and four beloved grandchildren, who carry forward the values, strength, and love he gave so freely.
