With great love and sadness, we share that after a brave and heartfelt fight with cancer, Cathy Aileen Frances Brule (nee Leeks), 67, passed away peacefully at home on December 14th, 2025, with her loving daughter Sarah Grieco by her side. 

Cathy’s passing was supported by the loving presence of her sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Donald Longard, Beverley and Abe Leeks-Finkelstein, Heather Leeks, and nieces, nephews, and friends. Cathy’s love for her daughter Sarah was unwavering, constant, and at the center of everything she did. 

We say good-bye knowing she is welcomed home with open hearts and a warm embrace by her husband, Denis Brule, mother and father Shirley and Fred Leeks, along with other extended family members. 

We remember Cathy for her nurturing ways and gift for making people feel special, her love of children, being a fashionista, and her beautiful gardens, one of her greatest joys— places she shaped with care, colour, and creativity. 

Cathy leaves behind her daughter, brother and sisters, brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

 Special thanks to Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, and Doctors Garth Nicholas, Oncologist, and Mohamed Adelaal, Palliative Care, for their kindness and care provided to Cathy throughout her cancer battle and her last days. 

A Celebration of Life will be on held on Sunday December 28th at the Grand Hotel, located at 7 Bridge St in Carleton Place from 1pm to 4pm. 

We will treasure all our great memories together, forever and always in our hearts.
