Catherine Linda Joyce Maroney (Davidson) died peacefully at Ottawa General, Thursday, January 18,2024 at the age of 75.
Catherine was a retired employee of Veteran Affairs.
She is survived by her sisters Joan Ferry, Sandra Maroney, her brother Jack Maroney and his spouse, Margaret Roy.

Cathy, also known as Kate by her friends, will be remembered fondly by her nieces, Susan Maroney Alexander (Stefan), Valerie Guet, and Carolyn Maroney (John D’avirro) as well as her nephew, Sylvain Guet (Cristina Cruza). She was predeceased by her nephew, Christian in 2022.
Kate’s grand nieces and nephews include Robbie (Alexandra), Stefanie, Alexandre (Amanda), Nick, Maddy, Delphine, Caitlyn, Chris, Isabela, Nico and Benjamin.
Catherine is also survived by two great grand-nephews, Jordan and Elliot.
Catherine was born in Quebec City in 1947 to John Maroney and Irene Guillet. From a young age, Kate demonstrated an incredible talent for music. She attended the University of McGill and was an accomplished pianist. She lived in Montreal for a number of years before moving to Ottawa, where she worked for Veteran Affairs. Her friends and coworkers will remember her for her diligence and for her welcoming personality as well as for the kindness and respect with which she treated veterans, occasionally playing them a song on the piano during celebratory events.
Cathy’s bubbly, energetic personality, her generous heart, words of wisdom and her wicked sense of humour lit up our lives. She will be deeply missed.
