Catherine Lefebvre (née Shane) 63 of Cornwall, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Cornwall Hospice, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She faced her illness with strength and grace, surrounded by her loved ones.

Catherine was born on October 11, 1962, in Cornwall, Ontario, to Lois (née Muldoon) and Lambert Shane. Known to many as a familiar and welcoming presence behind the bar at Freddy’s, Catherine was a beloved bartender whose laughter, kindness, and quick wit made everyone feel at home.

Above all else, Catherine loved her family. She was a loving mother to Melanie (Alex Mohr), Jasmine (Robert Glazier), Cassandra (Hughie Blackie), and Amanda, and stepmother to Stephanie. She had a deep love for her grandchildren, Cheyanne, Miriam, and Rhodes who loved their Nana very much.

Catherine was predeceased by her sisters Sandra, Deborah, and Marilyn. She is survived by her siblings Arlene (Lauzon), Kenny, Ronnie, Marie (Regnier) and Kevin (Betty Ann). She has a large extended family, and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Catherine will be remembered for her big heart, her wit, her stubbornness, and her infectious laugh. She possessed a bold, unapologetic and unfiltered sense of humour that will continue to live on through the many shared stories and memories she left behind. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit lives on through the lives she touched.
