Catherine Anne Amodeo July 2, 1945 - January 23, 2026 With sadness we announce the passing of Catherine Anne Amodeo (nee Dixon). Devoted mother to Marnie & Toni, loving stepmother to Christopher. Former spouse of Sandy Amodeo. Younger sister of the late Rosemary Donley, cherished grandmother to Connor, Mathew & Isabella. Coolest mother-in-law to Jason Lancucki and Stefan Bergh. Treasured “Auntie Kee Kee” to Patti, Maryann & Geri (Donley); long time friend and sister-in-law of Glenn Donley. Youngest daughter of Edna & Harold T. Dixon, of Toronto Dry Dock Company; builders of the ferries still in service to Toronto Islands and a pioneering family in the economic development of Toronto. Former daughter-in-law to the late Leona & Tony Amodeo and special member of the Amodeo, Oram & Kelly families. Catherine created a home full of love, music (usually Van Morrison) delicious food and good friends. Known for her dry wit and quick sense of humour, Catherine had a life long thirst for knowledge and personal betterment, always reading and taking notes. A passion that she shared with her daughters from childhood on. Catherine earned her high school diploma as an unemployed mother, achieving straight A’s. This accomplishment gained her the position of receptionist / floor manager with Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt and then on to Gardiner Roberts- enjoying decades of employment in the legal industry of downtown Toronto. Catherine was a proud and loving grandmother known to her grandchildren as “Nano”. Mathew describes Nano as ‘iconic and hilarious’. Always supporting Connor and Isabella’s hockey and rugby and rocking out to “Ice Ice Baby” in the car on the way to games. Catherine and her loyal sidekick Anthony the parrot, were happy living her final years together at Corktown Senior’s building where she felt loved and included in her community. Catherine was a one of a kind stunning beauty and she will be remembered forever. Thank you for our beautiful family mom - you were certainly iconic and will be remembered forever.
