It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Eaton McCron on September 20, 2026, at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, at the age of 88. Bruce passed peacefully, on his own terms, with his family by his side.

Bruce was born on April 26, 1938, in Mimico, Ontario, to Dorothy (née Eaton) and George McCron. He grew up alongside his five siblings, Bob, Patricia, Don, Geordy and James. After the war, the family moved to Oro Station, where his parents managed the local General Store.

Bruce began his career at General Tire, where he worked his way up to become a valued employee at the company's Barrie head office. He eventually left General Tire to start his own company, Pilot Marketing, with his good friend Doug Conley.

Bruce will be deeply missed by his four children, Cynthia, Kevin, Cameron and Liam, and his grandchildren, Ben, Aaron, Emma, Melissa, Hailey and Christopher. He was especially proud of his great-granddaughter, Sloan. He loved visiting with her, playing together, and hearing about her daily activities and accomplishments.

Bruce's legacy will live on through the family he loved, the friendships he treasured, and the many lives he touched throughout the years. He was a social guy who loved nothing more than sharing a beer with friends, whether in Mexico or at one of the many local establishments he enjoyed. He loved good food, good company and, most of all, good times—and he enjoyed them right up to the end.

He will also be sadly missed by his good buddy Shane, and his ex-wives, Nancy and Elaine.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hospice Simcoe and Dr. Morris for their compassionate and gentle care of Bruce.

In keeping with Bruce's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at a later date.
